This twin centre break has been designed to give you time to explore two of our most loved and iconic coastal towns along the English Riviera. You will enjoy walks around the towns, venture out along the coastal path for stunning sea views and explore Greenways, beloved home of Agatha Christie, now a National Trust property.
You will stay in Brixham, a charming South Devon town where life has always centred around the sheltered harbour. It's full of history and home to a significant fishing fleet so a great place to enjoy the day's catch - as well as being a popular holiday destination. Your second location is Dartmouth, which has a fascinating history, being one of the stopping off points for the Mayflower, on its journey to found the first colony in America. It is also a vibrant and lovely town, with beautiful river walks, and is easily explored by using the local ferries that provide an extensive network of travel options.
You'll stay in hand-picked guesthouses and small hotels which are well suited to walkers and offer comfortable accommodation with a delicious breakfast to start your day.
We highly recommend spending an extra day or so, to relax and soak up the friendly atmosphere of these exciting and scenically beautiful locations.
There’s a mix of coastal, rural and river trails to enjoy. Surfaces are a mix of paths, tracks and lanes, with generally quite easy going terrain throughout. Both the Coast Path and the trails linking Brixham to Dartmouth (the John Musgrave Heritage Trail and Dart Valley Trail) are well sign-posted. Walking boots essential.
Arrive and overnight Brixham. The nearest railway station is Paignton (change at Newton Abbot), which is a 15 minute taxi ride away. Please let us know if you are planing to drive.
