Set across the Danish islands of Zealand and Amager, Copenhagen was originally a viking village. It is now the capital city of Denmark - where the Danes have a reputation as being the happiest people in the world. It is so easy to explore as you can go everywhere by bike.
The daily tours offer a wide variety of experiences. Bike along stunning coastlines with beautiful beaches, pass adorable marinas, visit major royal cities like Hillerod and Roskilde and other highlights like The Little Mermaid and Tivoli in Copenhagen. Denmark is a safe place to ride a bike, and there are several possibilities to extend the daily trips for those who want to. Sand, sea, culture, and history united with a living and modern capital - this trip gives you the opportunity to experience everything. Copenhagen is the bicycle capital of the world and cycling here is wonderful! But come and see for yourself!
A gentle cycle tour through flat and low hilly landscapes. Most of the routes are on bike paths and small streets without much traffic. When entering and leaving cities you need to expect some more traffic. Two of the routes return to Copenhagen station where you may need to carry bikes up stairs in order to exit.
The Danish capital has a lot to offer, so an early arrival is highly recommended. Take a stroll through the medieval city centre or visit the famous Tivoli.
You stay at Absalon Hotel.
Absalon Hotel is a family run hotel, featuring colourful décor by Designers Guild. Absalon’s modern rooms have a desk and flat-screen TV with cable channels. Rooms offer a city view or view of their courtyard. Breakfast is a generous organic buffet, and Danish pastries, gluten-free bread and tasty marmalade are just some of the options offered.
Room upgrades and extra nights: Contact us for details.
Morning transfer to Roskilde where a visit to the Cathedral of Roskilde is included. Since the beginning of 15th century, the cathedral has been the favourite grave church of the Danish royal family and since 1995 became a part of UNESCO World Heritage. A visit to the Viking Ship Museum is also recommended. After a city walk, follow a new bike path that takes you from Albertslund back to Copenhagen.
Today's route will take you along Koge bay, with outstanding views to the Baltic Sea. The national park Amager Falled is absolutely free of traffic and its scenic landscape will impress you. For those who are interested in art we recommend a visit to Arken Museum of Modern Art. Koge belongs to one of the oldest cities of Denmark and is located directly on the coast. The white sand beaches invite for a jump into the cool water for a refresh, before you start your return journey comfortably by train (40 min, not included).
You leave Copenhagen heading north. Today's stage will take you along the Oresund, the strait between Zealand in Denmark and Scania in Sweden. With uninterrupted views of the Baltic Sea you will quickly reach the famous Bellevue beach where you can have a refreshing swim. In Helsingor it´s worth visiting Kronborg Castle or taking the ferry for a quick trip to Helsingborg on the Swedish side. You will return again comfortably by train (45 min, not included).
These tour only prices are based on two people sharing. Single supplement from NZ$612.
