For those of you like to travel by bike when on holiday, we now have electronic versions of our route directions on the majority of our cycling holidays. Thes work via a GPS route navigation app called RideWithGPS, which can be downloaded onto handheld devices such as mobile phones (Android or i-Phone) or any GPS unit that can export a TCX or GPX file.
How does it work?
The technology is called RidewithGPS, which is an electronic turn-by-turn voice navigation system. Using this system we have created versions of our notes that in a few simple steps you can download to your smartphone (or other GPS device). As Headwater customers you will enjoy all the premium navigational features of our RidewithGPS “Club” Account. So, once downloaded, your route will be available to you offline (i.e. you won’t need a telephone signal or data connection) and you will be free to head out and enjoy a trouble-free ride without the need to stop and check your route notes at every junction.
As well as being able to view your complete holiday itinerary online, we’ve also made sure that all your holiday documentation (maps and guide notes) is available to you in a format that can be simply downloaded to your smartphone, tablet or e-reader.
What are the benefits?
