REVIEWS

What a brilliant trip! The group were so friendly and go on so well! Jenny, our leader, was brilliant and the hotel was just idyllic... couldn't recommend it enough!

Overall it was an outstanding experience. We got to challenge ourselves while in the hands of an extremely good guide, who kept us safe. The Dolomites are truly amazing.

We had a fantastic week snowshoeing in the Dolomites. The scenery was amazing and the walks varied each day. We were lucky to be accompanied by a lovely group of fellow snowshoers and Jeffery our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and very well organised. The hotel Adler is a treat to stay in with a huge choice of breakfast to set you up for the day and a substantial evening meal. Walking in snowshoes is not technically difficult but when you sink into deep snow it can get a little tiring although it is also very amusing! We were lucky to have some fresh snow at the start of our holiday and then blue skies for the rest of the week. The walks are at an altitude where I should imagine there’s usually snow but sometimes you need to wear micro spikes rather than snowshoes. The days are full and are all in different locations so you get to see lots of stunning views.

This was our first winter trip with Exodus, and our first Premium Adventure. We had a great time. The weather was excellent, and snow conditions better than we had expected. There was relatively little snowshoeing because the snow was compacted and there had been freeze/thaw conditions before we arrived, but Jenny, the leader, had arranged micro-spikes for us to fit over our boots which were brilliant - the feeling of confidence they give even on sheet ice is remarkable. We were able to do all of the treks planned and even managed a more extensive walk on one of the days because we were managing so well on the terrain. The group worked very well - there were a range of abilities but all taken account of. We had to be organised in the morning for a prompt departure at 8.30 but we all managed. The hotel was simply superb -the meals were outstanding and the staff attentive and friendly.

What a fabulous trip! I’d never been on a group holiday before, or on a winter holiday, so I didn’t really know what to expect. I was very lucky that the group were great and that we all got on well. It was an amazing experience, with many memorable and fantastic moments. At one point I felt like I was on top of the world, the scenery was truly breathtaking. The hotel was great, very quirky and characterful with a nice spa. I booked a massage mid week which helped weary muscles!

Stunning, challenging hikes in the glorious Dolomites; staying in a lovely, quirky, family-run hotel with good food and wine.

I think it was on the third day, high up in what seemed to be a white wilderness, that it occurred to me that I’d run out of superlatives – awesome, stunning, magnificent, all the usual stuff didn’t seem to do justice to the scenery. I settled on surreal. This is a trip that exceeds expectation though the guide did describe us as “the lucky group” partly because we had a big dump of snow on the second day despite the gloomster weather forecasts. I also found it tougher than I expected; snow shoeing is harder than it looks, and we started most of the walks at about the 2000m mark, so altitude played a part – we were asleep by 11, another new experience. The hotel was very comfortable though the food did not quite live up to the eulogies in other reviews – the pool was great for soothing tired limbs. Difficult to describe some of the interior decoration – eclectic, eccentric or possibly kitsch? The staff were certainly welcoming and attentive, and the rooms were warm and spacious.

This is an amazing trip, enjoyable from start to finish. The itinerary was great, walks starting easier then gradually becoming more difficult, scenery was fabulous. I didn’t expect to get as high up in the mountains as we did but always felt safe. Jenny , our guide was a highly experienced leader and mountaineer and safety was her priority. It was more strenuous than expected but finding your own pace and not rushing was the key for me - something which Jenny encouraged. The hotel accomodation is comfortable and friendly and food is plentiful and good. We had a great group who really gelled and this was an added bonus

This trip had great progression from an easy first couple of days which was good for total beginners to get a feel for snowshoeing, building up to some longer but very rewarding days climbing some 2000+m peaks. Much to my delight, these last few days were much more like winter mountaineering but in snowshoes, rather than a tramp in the snow (as the first couple of days was). The hotel was also a great place to relax with wonderful sauna, pool and gym, and the most amazing food ever.

This was my first Exodus trip and I was delighted with the experience. The beautiful, cosy, alpine Hotel Adler was fabulous. The food was outstanding and plentiful, 5 course suppers, a great, varied selection for breakfast and a well considered wine list.

Each of the 5 walking days started with an 8.30 am pick up by minibus to various destinations. The walks were stunning. Apparently the moderate level it was graded was at times the very upper end of moderate. A big shout out to the very experienced, patient and caring Jenny, our guide. She went above and beyond to consider the different needs of our group of 9. Having never trekked before I was delighted with my achievement, which I certainly would not have managed without the invaluable tips and gentle encouragement from Jenny. I felt the standard of the hotel, the excellent food/service and the great itinerary of treks made this an amazing good value trip. Oh and very importantly for me , the comfy beds and a lovely deep bath with plenty of hot water really sold it to me after a tiring day

This trip is a great way to get to know a corner of the Dolomites in the winter. The walks take you through wonderful scenery, often with no other people around. Walking up peaks in the fresh snow is a great feeling, especially when you get to the top!

Loved the snowshoeing. Each of the walks held interest and the challenges increased as the week progressed. We enjoyed the opportunity to sled down from Taistner Alm near Lutterkopf. Hotel Adler is wonderful with a lovely spa, fabulous 4 course dinners, picnic packed lunches and extensive breakfast buffet.

Great weather. Fresh snow plus lots of sunshine.

Magnificent scenery, the Dolomites are really special both in winter and summer.

Comfortable hotel with good facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Tasty interesting dinners with a very good wine list to choose from.

A friendly, interesting group of fellow 'snowshoeers'

What really made the trip special was our guide Sara. She is everything you would wish for in a guide and I can only endorse all the other glowing mentions she receives in reviews.

A fabulous adventure.

Challenging but beautiful and rewarding with undoubtedly the BEST guide in charge! We had fun, explored, felt nurtured and cared for.

The hotel was gorgeous and the spa facilities were the perfect antidote to all of the hard work! As was the wonderful cuisine. A warm and friendly staff made us all feel very welcome.

Take crampons....icy walking can be very tiresome if too little snow for the snowshoes.

What an experience. A week of varied routes; a forest trail amongst snow laden trees - like a Narnia snowscene, mountain ascents with beautiful scenery along the way, impressive mountain ranges, breathtaking lakes, stunning mountain huts . . .

A fabulous family run hotel with warm and friendly staff, elegant rooms, comfortable beds and a deep bath with copious amounts of hot water. Immense breakfast choice, fabulous food and wine, cosy bar and snug and a relaxing wellness centre.

I'd never actually heard of snowshoeing before so thought I'd give myself a change from my usual hiking/trekking holidays and was so glad I did. The scenery, food, location and walks were fantastic. I thought snowshoes would take a bit of getting used to but you soon master the technique and are able to walk through the most amazing trails. It was a fantastic week, helped by the weather, and a change to the usual walking holiday.

Highly recommend this trip.

Another great Exodus holiday.

Nice hotel

Great routes and scenery with a variety of Winter conditions ranging from blue skies and glorious sunshine to romantic fluttery snow falls in magical forests to wild full-on winter conditions of wind and heavy snow.

This has been another memorable Exodus holiday. An excellent package, in line with the trip description, but made outstanding thanks to Sara our group leader and an exceptionally nice group of people. The trip offered exactly the right combination of manageable adventure and physical challenge with time to relax in the hotel's wellness centre, eat excellent food and engage in conversation with likeminded people.

The hotel staff were also very friendly and attentive.

The equipment provided (snowshoes and poles) were of an excellent standard. In addition safety equipment (avalanche transponders, probes etc.) provided reassurance that attention was paid to potential risks in the mountains. At the same time it was clear that Sara made appropriate risk assessments before embarking on a specific route.

Having received a free public transport pass prompted us on the free day to travel by train to Bolzano to visit the Oetzi museum (highly recommended) and use the pass on a couple of other occasions. This is an excellent promotion by the local tourist board.

Magnificent in every way - some of the finest scenery in Europe. Variety of walks with an afternoon stop at an Alpine hut for refreshments. Comfortable accommodation with health spar and plenty of food.

One small niggle, you had to buy a bottle of expensive wine rather than a glass of Hauswein.

Excellent trip, we thoroughly enjoyed our 1st snow shoeing holiday from start to finish. the area is beautiful, the scenery stunning. we had mostly lovely sunshine, great snow and superb views. The hotel was very nice, friendly and comfortable with nice facilities, lovely to come back to after a longs day's snow shoeing.

Sara, our guide was superb, she is experienced, very competent, professional, great sense of humour and takes very good care of all members of group, quickly picking up any difficulties.

This is the 2nd time I've done this trip, last time was only 12 months ago. I pleased to say I had a fantastic time this time around as well.

There were issues with the flight out due to bad weather, so nothing Exodus could have down about that. But they did re arrange the pick up from the airport, and kept us informed informed of what was going on, so top marks for their effort there.

The hotel is very good, the dinner is filling, if sometimes a little unusual. I think a would have preferred a simpler menu. The rooms seem to vary greatly. Last year I had one of the superb rooms that you'll see on the hotels website, this year I had a room towards the rear of the hotel that was more traditional Tirol style, that was clean but a little tired, specially when compared to the other rooms. However it was more than adequate, after all you don't come here to sit in your room, you come for the great walking, and you get that in abundance. The walks are well paced , and gradually increase in difficulty as the week progresses. The views were fantastic, there was plenty of time to admire the view, take photos, and stop in the mountains huts for a hot chocolate or something stronger.

There wasn't enough deep snow to make it worth taking the snow shoes, so we were supplies with crampons, which worked well. On the Friday there was plenty of deep snow, which great fun. Even if I did face plant a few times.

There was plenty of advice and ideas on what to to do the 'rest day' and the free travel pass was very helpful here and on the day of the departure when you have the morning to entertain yourself.

A fabulous, varied week of snowshoeing in the Italian Dolomites lead by the inspirational Sara Bull. If you haven't used snowshoes or crampons before, don't worry. If you're reasonably fit, don't worry. We experienced a wide variety of weather conditions during our stay at the welcoming Hotel Adler, from warm sunshine to freezing blizzards and our leader Sara selected the perfect trek for each occasion, providing all the instruction, encouragement and support that our group required, regardless of their level of experience and fitness. Her catchword is 'enthusiasm' and hers is infectious. If you want to enjoy the Dolomites at their most dramatic and beautiful, then this is the trip for you.

Great variety of walks to mountain summits with fantastic views of the beautiful Dolomite scenery. Walking included a couple of ascents of 650m. We walked through wooded hillsides to mountain tops. On most days we stopped in mountain huts for a drink whilst we admired the scenery.

This was a great holiday for our mixed group of complete snowshoeing beginners and those who had tried it before. The scenery was stunning, helped by perfect weather! Sunny all day with brilliant blue, cloudless skies. The family run guest house was perfect for relaxing after a hard day walking. The pool and spa area were great, food delicious and a couple of warm bar areas for socialising.

Having tried snow shoeing for a day last year, I was keen to give it another go but was slightly concerned that a full week of the same thing would be a bit monotonous. I needn’t have worried-Sara our guide made the week varied and fun. We walked through woodland, along ridges, from peak to peak, along old military roads and even finished one walk on a sledge with the snow shoes strapped to our backs.

This was a great active week, in beautiful surroundings. The hotel is very comfortable and the food is great. Sara is a fantastic leader who looked after us really well.

This was a fabulous holiday taken in February half term week. I cannot praise the guide highly enough. Great variety of terrain and scenery. Comfortable hotel with good food. Free travel pass a real boon on free day. I shared a room and that worked well. Nice pool. Useful free day to explore and rest feet and legs

The snow-showing was hard work but really worth the effort to get off the beaten track in deep snow and to see the magnificent scenery. The itinerary varied depending upon the weather conditions and included forest walks past WW1 chapels, battle grounds and monuments and more exposed walks to higher areas, usually incorporating a welcome drink in a mountain hut and the opportunity to sample local goodies.

Lots of opportunities to see the local villages and towns, the free train and bus pass for visitors to the valley was very welcome.

Several people in the group had walked in the area with Exodus during the summer and enjoyed it so much they were returning for the winter experience , which seems a great recommendation.

A really beautiful place to walk; each day gave us different views of the Dolomites and Austrian and Italian Alps. Our guide, Sara, was excellent, she encouraged all of the group to get the most out of the trip and despite the challenging weather (very deep snow and recent fresh avalanches which closed off many routes) devised an interesting, varied and very enjoyable schedule for us all. The hotel was good, the room was comfortable, spa was very welcome after long days walking and the food was very good- they catered for my gluten free diet really well with the minimum of fuss. Loved the breakfasts and lunch boxes. The group were lovely- this was my first group trip and I was quite apprehensive but I was really happy to meet such a diverse group of like minded people. The peacefulness in the mountains was wonderful- I’m so happy that our routes were altered because it gives me another good reason to go back again!

Lucky to have so much snow making the scenery very beautiful. Challenging walks led by very good guide, sara, she worked very hard to ensure everyone was supported and also to find us safe routes as high avalanche risk this week. Stunning region, will definitely return. Hotel clean and comfortable, breakfasts and packed lunch great with good choices. Evening meals good most nights. Spa was very welcome at end of the day. Our group were all lovely we had a great week. Enjoyed the free day trying cross country skiiing. Snowshoeing is great way to explore mountains and challenge yourself. Thank you

After problems with avalanches around the Brenner Pass and subsequent rail journey, we enjoyed great scenery, weather and had the benefit of a knowledgeable leader.

The perfect antidote to overindulging over Christmas (although don’t expect to lose weight)! Spectacularly beautiful scenery with some of the finest mountain walking in the world. Conditions can vary - we had reduced snow levels, but that just meant we donned universal crampons (provided by Exodus) and headed up into the hills on good trails. The walking is well graded, increasing (a little) in difficulty through the week.

The hotel offers superb accommodation and exceptional food. It has a small, well equipped wellness centre and gym, and offers spa services (massages were highly rated by those who had them).

Learning to snow shoe was simple, but for the first two days I also had to learn how to pick myself up. My feet felt huge.

The walking was exhilarating and the views spectacular. I began to understand the mountaineer's drive to be in that terrain. At times I was overwhelmed with the effort it took for me to reach my destination but always felt happy to be participating. Different group members were warm and encouraging.

Our guide was OUTSTANDING. I was a teacher and I appreciated all of the incentives Sara used to help me not only finish my walk but enjoy it too.

A fantastic and memorable week!

Thank you.

Being complete novices my wife and I were just experimenting with this trip. We are so glad we did. The walks are all pretty challenging stuff but the rewards of the effort put in are more than ample reward. We were fortunate enough to get a pretty good week, some snow, some blue skies and not too cold and the Dolomites definitely showed us their best face. We are in our early sixties and walk regularly and found the walks doable but not easy. You get out of this holiday what you put in.

We have just returned from the Snowshoeing holiday In the Dolimites. We had not been snowshoeing before , others in the party had. Our guide Sara ,was fantastic at bringing the first timers and the experienced along at a pace that fitted both. She was amazing at helping individuals, encouragement and delivered everyday on a challenging walk with a spectacular visual reward at the end and 'feel good' personal achievement factor.

We felt Sara was super woman, she looked after our welfare and wellbeing constantly and her attention to detail and our safety was amazing.

The hotel for this trip was also great. Small and very friendly with great food and facilities to relax with after the days physical challenges. Particularly special beds! Essential at the end of an exercise filled day.

We thoroughly enjoyed the week.

A great week. Challenging at times, but so worth it to experience raw nature and incredible scenery and views.

This was my first time on the type of holiday but from the moment we left the airport , I knew I had made the right choice in booking this holiday. The hotel was great, and the views spectacular. As someone who often walks alone I was worried that a group holiday wouldn't be my thing, but there were plenty of opportunities to break away from the group if you wanted. I never felt rushed if wanted to take photos, or just admire the view. It turned out walking as a group was a lot of fun.

If I was to be really fussy I would say I would have prefered the evening meals to be a bit more basic, but there were options on the menu if you weren't happy with the main menu. Breakfast provided a good selection, and I normally made a right pig of myself.

This adventure was a rare combination of breath-takingly beautiful snow-shoeing treks—all selected to challenge but not overwhelm—combined with expert group creation and facilitation skills.. Each of us felt truly seen and supported. An unusual feat in my experience.

Wow! A great week of mucking around in the snow, with fabulous panoramic views. A bit tougher than I expected, but with the world's best leader (Sara Bull) it was all made very smooth. Excellent hotel, seamless organisation.

One of the best holidays I have ever had. I was a little nervous about doing a first group holiday but this holiday was amazing. The group leader, Sara, was fantastic - very knowledgeable about the mountains, and many other things. She was very friendly and very interesting to talk to. The other members of the group were lovely people. The scenery was incredible and the walking was varied and perfectly planned. The only criticism was the dinner menu which was over complicated - would be much better to have 3 courses with a few choices. The breakfasts were fantastic.

I have just returned from a marvellous holiday in the Dolomites. Perfect weather, amazing scenery, 4* hotel, excellent company, and an elite group leader.

The whole holiday went very well. Initially, snow was limited but that all changed on Tuesday when proper snow-shoeing conditions arrived. Our itinerary was flexible so that we were able to undertake the optimum walk each day to suit both the weather and snow conditions. Day 1 saw us walked up Monte Piana using crampons. On day two we ascended Seikofel from the KreuzbergpassPass using both crampons and show-shoes; lovely sunny day. Day three was snowy so we made our way to the Durrensteinhutte and along to Platzwiese using our snow-shoes once again. Day 4 was a rest day; we chose to take the gondola to Monte Elmo and sit in the sun whilst enjoying the views over the Sesto Dolomites, eating heartily and watching the skiers. All excellent stuff but the best was yet to come.......

A fantastic week of snowshoeing. Awesome in the true sense of the word! Awesome hotel, awesome views, awesome walks and awesome guide Sara! We were lucky to arrive after a decent snow fall so we had 5 days snowshoeing in pristine snow with beautiful clear blue skies.

Really lovely holiday Snowshoeing in the Dolomites. The hotel was very comfy, the scenery stunning, the trip leader couldn't have been better and the group were great.

Spectacular scenery, great hotel and a guide beyond brilliant!

Every walk was different with varying degrees of effort required but all great fun.

If you like walking in the mountains and are looking for jaw dropping views then book this trip - you won't regret it.

Overall an incredible week - no 2 days the same and they just got better. Our fabulous guide, Sara, was enthusiastic and motivating; her knowledge of the area was amazing; nothing was too much trouble and she ensured everyone had the best time ever. It was fun as well as hard work but thoroughly enjoyable. So pleased that we went.

Almost perfect trip. The weather was magnificent, blue skies and sunshine pretty well throughout. The hotel Adler was excellent - comfortable beds, lovely food, good service, lovely swimming pool to relax in after a day on the mountains. The scenery is as magnificent as it looks in travel brochures. To top it all, Sara, our guide, was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, organised, and everything else you could hope for a leader to be.

Amazing week with perfect conditions. The area is beautiful and the walks are varied. Great equipment provided lovely hotel and our leader, Sara, could not be faulted

We had a really amazing week in the Dolomites, it was hard work but with huge rewards. Being in the mountains most walks started up, up up and ended down, down, down. But we had some truly amazing views of the Dolomites and Alps and the hospitality in the many Mountain huts was much appreciated.

Hotel Adler was very comfortable and the staff were very accommodating for a variety dietary needs (vegetarians, nut allergies etc)

Mostly walking as January had been too cold for snow

An excellent holiday: the snow-covered Dolomites are incredibly beautiful, and the weather for our week was perfect, with blue skies above and lots of crunchy snow underfoot. I was rewarded in spades for puffing up those hills: on the walks themselves, by the amazing all-round views; back at our hotel, by the rather nice swimming pool and by tasty and plentiful food. Our group was a really friendly bunch of people, which made for a lovely atmosphere throughout.

A wonderful challenging holiday spent among jagged snow capped peaks, led by a knowledgable, caring guide, with a great sense of fun.

A well-planned trip taking advantage of the spectacular scenery. We were also lucky to have perfect weather and snow conditions.

Special mention must be made of Sarah Bull - possibly the best guide I have ever encountered. Her attention to detail is extraordinary, as is her commitment and her sense of fun.

A wonderful week in the Dolomites spent in superb accommodation and surrounded by stunning scenery.

The walking was fun and varied. Whether trekking through a Narnia like snow covered tree scape, or walking a mountain ridge in brilliant sunshine you are sure to have a smile on your face.

To top it all, a great leader and group of fellow travellers.

A very fine mix of wild, high mountains and very civilised relaxation in the valley. The Hotel Adler serves excellent food - real winter sport breakfasts, freshly done egg and bacon if you want. Being in the village, the shops are right next door for souvenirs etc. Having a week's free travel pass made rest days etc so much easier to get around.

We did this trip four years ago and enjoyed it so much decided to book again. Was a little worried it would not be so good second time around, but it was even better! We had a fantastic week with varied and interesting walks in stunning scenery. Magical Narnia like landscapes, mountain peaks with historic interest and the most incredible views. An outstanding leader who made every day interesting and fun and a hotel, with excellent food, service and facilities to relax in after a days snowshoeing.

A wonderful week in a beautiful and tranquil environment. Each day brought different scenery and walking conditions and each day was excellent. The walking was not too demanding for someone used to day walks being sufficiently tough to feel that the evening meal and a drink had been well earned but not so tough that we were exhausted.

A superb week away, exploring just a bit of what the Dolomites has to offer. Stunning scenery, wonderful walks with views that are breathtaking - we loved it!

This trip gives access to some beautiful areas of the Dolomites with spectacular views and a wide variety of routes depending on the weather and snow conditions. The Hotel Adler and Sara, our guide, worked very hard to ensure our holiday lived up to our expectations.

Really good overall experience - depends on the weather which was mostly good

An amazing week in wonderful surroundings, a luxury hotel and everything taken care of. Totally good value for money and life memories every day.

A fun filled trip in a stunning part of Europe with excellent guides who made the most of the limited snow we experienced. Combining scenery, history, sightseeing and relaxing in the wellness centre, it was a lovely Christmas break.

This was my first time traxelling with Exodus and I was very impressed by the efficiency of the trip.Despite the lack of snow for snowshoeing we all had a brilliant time walking in the breathtaking scenery. It felt great to reach the summit and see some wonderful views.

Brilliant trip in a beautiful part of the world. Top marks for the catering and staff at Hotel Adler too, very well looked after.

Great

This was a new experience for me - I had some time off in January and decided to give it a go.  Snowshoeing is not technically difficult and the snowshoes are not that heavy to wear, but the trip is quite a demanding Grade B.  On a sunny day (at least) the views and sense of achievement are worth it.

An excellent holiday and good value. Great to have a swim / sauna after a day snowshoeing.

A fantastic way to see the area in the snow; glorious views and scenery.  Highly decadent to be be able to ease any muscle aches and pains in the sauna and steam room each evening!

A great way to visit mountains in winter, visiting places that can't be reached any other way. A comfortable hotel with a good recovery suite - sauna, steam, pool with massage jets.

A fantastic winter break - beautiful scenery, lovely hotel, a great group of people and an excellent guide.  And we had sunshine (most of the time) every day!

Wasn't sure walking with tennis racquets on my feet was going to be such a good look ! This was an exhilarating trip staying at a wonderful hotel, lovely group of fellow travellers, great guide and stupendous winter scenery.

Wonderful scenery and walking combined with an excellent hotel and a first class group leader. Terrible handling of our transfer upon arrival though (see below).

Wonderful holiday, great leader, good company, correct activity level for grade of trip, good balance of activity and relaxation, lovely hotel with good facilities and welcoming staff. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

A spectacular way to enjoy winter walking, fun in the snow and superb mountain scenery in good company.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, but felt a couple of the walks were a bit short.  We are quite fit and do a lot of hillwalking at home and found the 'B' grade walks easy.  When we go snowshoeing again we will do a 'C' grade.  The scenery was spectacular and the area is well worth visiting.  Hotel Adler was an excellent place to stay.

Great easy trip, good introduction to snowshoeing, lovely scenery lovely hotel.  Food very Germanic, so brace yourself for lots of ham etc.

A perfect way to spend Christmas - in an amazing winter wonderland. The scenery was stunning and the walks were absolutely fantastic - planned and thought out carefully by our superb guide.  Very little travelling required each day and our guide always played the best tunes in the mini-bus to keep us awake! The hotel was warm, cosy and very festive.  Great to have a swim and a sauna after a day in the snow. A pre-dinner drink in the lounge by the roaring log fire was a great way to relax whilst our guide dutifully informed us about the plan for the next day. I can't think of a better way to spend a winter holiday.

Fabulous hotel with fabulous food.Had a fantastic time with a great leader and wonderful walks.

This is my 2nd trip with Exodus and was simply fantastic (as was the first), I would thoroughly recommend it.  It was extremely beautiful being in Villabassa at Christmas time, the Hotel Alder was wonderful, both management and staff very welcoming/helpful and friendly, gorgeous 5 course dinner each night.  Aperitifs on our first evening & Christmas Eve in reception along with carols was gorgeous.  The snowshoeing was such brilliant fun walking in a winter wonderland (thankfully the snow fell the Friday before going), each walk gave us beautiful scenery and "THE" most amazing views having the weather on our side most days, even though a couple of the walks involved “chuffin steep climbs” the views totally made up for it and coming back down is always the easiest whichever way we did it by walking/sledding or in my case sliding upside down head first when unable to stay on the sled but had soo much fun though, felt like being a child all over again J

Overall, maybe helped by good weather, an excellent holiday in a very good hotel with a compatible group that all seemed to get on well.  Villabassa is ideally located for winter holidays

A fantastic week. Lovely hotel, food and scenery. And the spa at the end of the day was bliss. Tougher than I expected but not a problem as there was no pressure or sense of shame in being last! The food at the hotel is truly gorgeous.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. A good variety of climbs followed by swim, sauna and good food each day allowed us to push ourselves without feeling after effects the next day. The combination of blue skies, snow, good company and an excellent hotel made for a memorable holiday

Great trip - scenery, snow, weather,  hotel, food, people in group, leader were all fantastic.

Terrific fun - a great winter holiday in the snow. Hotel Adler brilliant too.
