Walking Holidays in Algarve

Showing 3 out of 337 trips

Our walking holidays in the Algarve are the perfect way to explore striking natural beauty, taste delicious local dishes and immerse yourself in the cheerful Portuguese culture. Each area of the Algarve offers its own unique charm. Whether you are drawn inland to witness unspoilt flora and fauna, or the coastline to take in the bright blue waters and golden sands, you're sure to be delighted during our walking holidays in the Algarve.

Locals in the 'Wild West' offer a warm welcome and cling to the traditions of rural life. It's a far cry from the package tourist hotspots of the eastern Algarve region. Unspoilt wild coastlines take you on a trail back to a land that time has forgotten, where pretty white villages intermingle with rich valleys and pretty meadows. Beyond the 'developed' Algarve in Portugal's most southerly Atlantic corner, lies the Sagres Peninsula - a startlingly pristine region of golden beaches and imposing cliffs, swaying flower meadows, dramatic coastlines and tree-lined paths. We offer fantastic activity trips in the Algarve that allow you to explore this beautiful area by foot, following the coastline through charming villages and beautiful forests.

Of course, no walking holiday in the Algarve would be complete without enjoying the delicious local cuisine. Many of our trips have meals included at some of the finest eateries, as well as giving you the opportunity to try any local restaurants that take your fancy on route. Seafood, fish, wine and custard tarts are all a must during your travels!

You'll be spoilt for choice with our variety of walking holidays in the Algarve. Our self-guided walking tours in the Algarve are all graded from one to three in terms of difficulty, so there are routes suitable for everyone!

Where appropriate, we grade our holidays based on distance, terrain, elevation gain, remoteness, etc and categorise them into 4 relative groups. This is ultimately subjective and may vary slightly day to day; for more advice, please see the specific trip page or call one of our friendly team.
